As a woman who has offended in the past (Women’s Turnaround)

If you’re a woman in Merseyside who has offended in the past, we can help you get your life back on track.

What is Women’s Turnaround?

Women’s Turnaround is a service for women in Merseyside who have offended in the past. As part of your probation, you’ll come to our Women’s Turnaround service and we’ll help you to turn your life around and get you onto a more positive path.

How can we help?

Our main aim is to help you find your positive path in life.  We’re going to try to help you make better choices for you and your family, and try to help you stay on the straight and narrow, with no more offences.

We’ll support you emotionally, with one-to-one counselling and support, and we’ll help you find ways to let how you feel out in positive ways, for example, with our boxing classes. We’ll help you build your self-esteem back up (because we know it can take a massive knock when you’ve offended), and we’ll help you break down any barriers you’ve got to making a better life for yourself and your family. We’ll help you understand your emotions and can help you with things like bereavement counselling, to help you if you’ve lost someone, or help you with things like anxiety, depression or anger issues. It doesn’t matter what you’re experiencing – our team are really experienced, really care and can help.

We’ll also support you with things like:

  • legal advice;
  • advocacy;
  • finding somewhere safe to live;
  • benefits;
  • debt management;
  • employment;
  • education and training;
  • your health and well-being;
  • parenting;
  • thinking positively;
  • drug and alcohol abuse; and
  • domestic abuse.

You’ll come for regular meetings with our team at our Women’s Turnaround centre in Liverpool as part of your probation, and you’ll take part in some group sessions, where you’ll meet other women in the same situation as you, so you can hear about and learn from each other’s experiences.

Will you judge me?

You’ll be treated with respect and kindness by everyone at PSS. We’ll never judge you. We’re just here to support you and to help you get where you want to be. Our Women’s Turnaround team are really experienced and have worked with an awful lot of women in the same position as you.

Where will my sessions take place?

Your sessions will take place at the Women’s Turnaround Centre, which is at Eleanor Rathbone House, Unit 16 Connect Business Village, 24 Derby Road, Liverpool, L5 9PR. The closest train station is Sandhills (it’s a three-minute walk) and we have loads of free parking.
