Budget-friendly festive fun

This December, give your family the most precious gift of all, presence – not presents. Lots of us might be feeling the pressure to be buying and giving gifts at this time of year, so our Parent-Baby Service team have rounded up their favourite ways to have budget-friendly festive fun with your family.

Festive Singing

Why not create lasting memories through the magic of festive singing? Beyond the joy it brings to us (who doesn’t love a good sing-along at the best of times), singing to your baby helps them get used to the sounds we make when we talk and sing. For toddlers and children, singing strengthens their lips and tongues and teaches them about language and rhyme. Not only that, singing can also be a beautiful bonding experience between you and your baby.

Getting Creative

Getting involved in creative activities lets your baby explore different sensations and try new skills. You can do things like baking, painting or simply playing with their favourite toys. Not only is this great fun for baby, but it also shows us that there’s no right or wrong way to be creative – it’s about enjoying the moment and going with the flow. Watch your baby embrace the joy of creation and the wonder of discovery.

Winter Walking

Get some pep in your step and take your baby for a winter walk during the day. Not only does it provide a breath of fresh air, but it also offers a chance for your little one to roam freely or catch a nap in the pram.

As night falls, why not wrap up warm and look at the dazzling decorations that light up the streets.

Give the Gift of Joy

Instead of buying new toys, wrap up your baby’s favourite toys and revel in the joy of unwrapping together. Create a sensory-rich moment by feeling the texture and hearing the delightful sound of crinkling wrapping paper. It’s a simple yet amazing way to introduce them to the magic of the festive season.
