Nicola Parkinson, trustee

Nicola is a senior people leader and has worked in a variety of purpose-driven organisations in the construction, childcare, housing, education, care, and manufacturing sectors. She has diverse and extensive experience in leadership, organisational development, employee engagement, and human resources spanning over two decades. 

Born in Liverpool, Nicola lives in Wigan and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and has an MSc in Human Resources Management. 

With a passion for working with ethical organisations that have a real social purpose, Nicola’s aim is to make the world of work a better place for future generations. Nicola joined PSS in May 2023 and is Vice Chair of the People and Culture Committee and a member of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group. Nicola joined the Board of Trustees in June 2024. 

Away from work, Nicola lives with her husband, son, and two Staffies. She volunteers as an Enterprise Advisor, working with a local school to improve their careers provision, and as a Soroptimist, an organisation that aims to empower, educate, and enable women. In her spare time, she enjoys food, travel, socialising with friends, live music, and follows Wigan Rugby League.
