Mental Health Awareness Week 2023
Monday 15th May is the start of national Mental Health Awareness Week and this year’s theme is anxiety.
Anxiety really normal when we’re stressed, worried or going through something. Anxiety can affect how we think, how we feel, and the way our body feels.
Everyone gets anxious sometimes – especially if there’s something we’re particularly worried about (like an exam or a big life change, for example). Anxiety can be manageable, and come and go as part of life for some of us, and for others it can feel constant, like we can’t get past it and life like we want to.
At PSS, we want to support people to live their best lives and get the most out of every day. That’s why for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, we’ve teamed up with the lovely folk at South Liverpool Homes to create a jam-packed week full of activities and events to help support people dealing with feelings of anxiety.
We want people to be able to come together, share their experiences of anxiety, move their bodies and get creative – all of which can help to relieve symptoms of anxiety. These events will take place at Dutch Barn and in locations across Garston and Speke.
There are lots of South Liverpool Homes events taking place across the week that aren’t part of PSS Wellbeing Centres but are open for anyone to come along to. You can find out more on their website.
