Can you make bog standard topics feel like a TED Talk? Love inspiring people to be the best they can be?

If you’ve got heart, learning and development experience and a little bit of razzle dazzle sprinkled on top, come and join our award-winning team as our new in-house trainer!

What’s the role all about?

We know loads of organisations say this, but honestly, as a social care charity, our people really are what make us brilliant. Every day, they’re out there providing top quality support to people from all walks of life who could do with their helping hand. To do that, they need to be absolutely on top of their game in what they do. They need to be compliant with the law and regulatory requirements, and they need to feel confident and fully up-to-speed on the latest developments in their field. That’s where you come in.

We’re on the hunt for an in-house trainer to come and be part of our ace learning and development team. You’ll be responsible for putting together learning and development content and delivering courses that keep people glued, inspire them to aim higher and fill them with the skills to be brilliant in their roles. From equity, diversity and inclusion and first aid through to coaching and personal development, you’ll turn your hand to a range of learning and development topics and bring them to life for our learners, working with external trainers sometimes, too.

We’ve all got different learning styles, so we need someone who can develop inclusive, accessible training programmes that can be adapted to suit different people and do a really thorough evaluation of how they went afterwards.

Here at PSS we love a bit of coaching, and our in-house coaching programme has won multiple awards. Every single one of our managers have been coached, and we’ve got a fantastic team of in-house coaches from all over the organisation.  As our new recruit, coaching at PSS will become your baby – you’ll look after it and keep it fresh, thriving and growing.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has at least two years’ experience in designing and delivering training programmes
  • Loves staying on top of trends in learning and development, and is open to researching, exploring, and developing how AI can support us to create learning content
  • Is friendly, open, confident and can bring some pizazz to learning
  • Is committed to inclusivity and accessibility, and knows how important it is to make all of our training work for different learning styles
  • Has experience with assessing people’s competence in various areas and providing constructive, kind feedback
  • Is a dab hand at the most commonly used tech platforms like Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Kahoot and learning management systems
  • Has a teaching or assessing qualification, such as a L3 Award in Education and Training or a L4 Certificate in Education and Training (but if you don’t have this qualification, don’t worry, it’s ok if you’re prepared to work towards it within the first 12 months in your role).
  • Has a big heart, an open mind, is genuine, determined, and professional
