How coaching at PSS works
The steps to getting started with coaching
Coaching sessions are different for everyone but we do have a policy in place to plan how your coaching will work and be organised.
Step one: Have a conversation with your line manager. Let them know that you’re interested in coaching and together you can look at areas that might be good for you to explore. Your manager will then share your expression of interest.
Step two: You’ll be matched up with a coach who’ll set-up an initial meeting with you to get to know you, your goals and how you’d like the relationship to work. You’ll make an agreement with your coach based on this and how many sessions you’ll be doing. You usually agree to 3-6 sessions of coaching. As part of your first meeting your coach might ask you to score yourself against the area you’re looking to develop now.
Step three: You’ll start your coaching and set the dates for your next session based on what you’re working on and realistic timeframes and yours and your coaches availability. You’ll usually be working towards something at the end of your coaching.
Step four: Once you’ve completed the coaching sessions you agreed to at step two you’ll review your progress and coaching experience and start putting your skills into use at work. You can also look at next steps with your coach and extra sessions if you think this will help you.
