Meet Simone
Meet Simone
I’m Simone. I feel really privileged to have the exciting role of head of quality which means I get to connect with staff, volunteers and people we support from across the whole of PSS on a day-to-day to basis. I also get to spend time with our senior management team and trustees helping to shape the development of PSS and making sure we have great policies and risk management in place. Having worked in a variety of frontline roles including community support, teaching, mentoring and sports coaching, as well as strategic work in charity development, safeguarding and change management, the thing that definitely floats my boat is seeing people and services develop, achieve and make a difference whilst having a great time doing it.
How could I support you?
I’ve been on some great journeys so far enjoying getting to know some of our fabulous team members whilst coaching them to explore and achieve their goals. Goals have included: making the transition from support worker to manager, developing more positive relationships with colleagues to help service development, building self-confidence to unleash super powers that have been squashed, developing facilitation confidence and returning successfully to work after Covid or periods of stress.
My favourite part of coaching is the starting point ‘the chemistry session’ which is the getting to know each other bit when you’re first matched. For me the chemistry session is all about two cosy arm chairs and the gift of time where someone can share their story over a brew, talk through what makes them tick and begin their journey about what it is they want to achieve and what they need to overcome to get there.
What would you tell someone thinking about getting coaching?
Coaching is great! I’m an absolute advocate for it and have benefited greatly myself from coaching over the years. Everyone needs and deserves a bit of self-investment and time to reflect so you can be the best you and grow into a butterfly. This is your time and a free gift with no strings attached so go for it would be my advice if you’re thinking about it.
