Meet Julie

Hi, I’m Julie and I’m the Making Days and Community Support manager for PSS. I’ve worked in day services for over thirty years and done many roles along the way. I joined day services in Wirral when I was 17 years old and never looked back. The people, the chance to make a real difference and a role in which I could learn from and work as part of a team were really important motivators for me. As a young person, I was really lucky to meet people along the way who encouraged me, supported me and helped me work out what I wanted to do in life. Having someone to ‘coach’ me made a real difference to how I saw myself and the decisions I made in my career.

As a coach for PSS, I always remember those important people who guided me, helped me ask the right questions, gently pushed me out of my comfort zone and celebrated the successes and become resilient when things didn’t quite turn out as planned.

 How I could support you

Coaching offers me a way to share my experience and encourage others to develop, become more confident or just work through an issue. Some people need to get the right work-life balance and not feel guilty for doing the things to look after themselves. Others want to move up in their career or just be better at organisation and time management. Coaching can be whatever you want it to be, and we can change on the day if something important comes up. The important thing is to enjoy the experience and moving forward.

Coaching is about trust and the relationship between us, as this will allow us to have some great conversations. Knowing that everything really is confidential is important right from the start.

I will gently push and challenge, help you celebrate or recoup – just like the people in my early career did for me.

Coaching is something that I have seen make a real difference to individual development and confidence.
