We’re on the hunt for a brand new carer assessor to come and be part of our Shared Lived Manchester team, based in our Wythenshaw office.

Shared Lives is a bit like fostering, but it’s for adults who want to live as independently as possible. Our Shared Lives carers are there to help make that happen.

As our brand new carer assessor, it’ll be your job to make sure people applying to be a Shared Lives carer at PSS are the right people for the job. You’ll find out whether our new carers have the skills and knowledge they need to be ace at what they do, and you’ll go out and see if their home is suitable for someone we support to live in, too. Your health and social care experience will stand you in good stead to look out for those skills and experiences our carers can offer to really make a difference in someone’s life.

You’ll also be the go-to person for our new carers as they make their way through the recruitment journey, using your superb customer service skills to be there for them every step of the way.

We’ll need you to be a good report-writer and be able to work to a deadline; you’ll need to write reports about the people you’re assessing, using loads of evidence to make sure all the Is are dotted and the Ts are crossed, and that we can get a clear picture of where they’re at.

You’ll need to be organised to keep track of where each carer you’re assessing is up to in the process, and you’ll need to be passionate about making sure people have an ace experience with us – whether they’re approved to become carers or not.
