PSS in a nutshell

At PSS, we’ve got an important job to do; and that’s to help people make the most of their lives – whatever life throws at them. Whether you’re working directly with the people who use our services, or behind the scenes in one of our offices; every day you’ll be helping to make other people feel happier, healthier and more supported.

We’re a social enterprise or as we like to call it – a ‘business with a heart’. This means that all the money we make goes back into finding new ways to support people. We’ve got offices across Merseyside, Wales, Manchester, Lincolnshire, the Midlands, Norfolk and Suffolk where we’re making our stamp. Our quality team are based in our head office, Eleanor Rathbone House in Liverpool.

What’s our quality team all about?

Our quality team have a big old job to do around here — they’re responsible for keeping the people who use our services and our teams safe and supported. They’re on the ball when it comes to championing our important systems and processes across the organisation; things like health and safety, equality and diversity and safeguarding.

The team are always looking for innovative ways for us to advance the quality of our services with the unique needs, personalities, hopes and dreams of the people we support driving this every step of the way. They work alongside the experts – the people who use our services and our teams – to monitor, report and learn from the stuff that’s working well and the important steps we need to take to get better in the future.

What you’ll do as a safeguarding and quality officer

As our safeguarding and quality officer you’ll join a small but mighty team known within PSS for its efficiency, its on-the-nose accuracy and its cracking sense of humour. All the things you need to make sure we’re aiming to be the best in the west (and the east, north and south, just to be clear).

What that involves:

  • Supporting and empowering our teams to be the best they can be when it comes to effective information sharing, good quality reporting and risk management.
  • Maintaining and developing great reporting systems and processes, analysing how we’re doing and reporting back to our senior teams.
  • Being an all-round awesome people person who’s able to build effective relationships with PSS people – from the people we support, to our quality checkers (who have lived experience and support us to develop our services), to our partners, teams and trustees.
  • Keeping a close eye on exactly how we’re doing all year round even when our regulators like CQC in England and CIW in Wales are at home with their feet up and their fluffy slippers on.

What we need from you

First and foremost, we need someone who lives up to our PSS values of being big-hearted, genuine, determined, professional and open-minded. You’ll need a level 4 diploma in business administration or equivalent, a positive and productive attitude and a commitment to our important confidentiality processes and procedures.

Closing date for applications: 17:00 Tuesday 30 November 2021

Interview date will be either Wednesday 8 or Thursday 9 December 2021
